SLAT is a one-hour, computer-based test that assesses logical, legal and analytical reasoning, reading comprehension and general knowledge. It’s the entrance route into five-year integrated law programmes at four Symbiosis Law Schools — SLS Pune (B.A. LL.B. Hons, B.B.A. LL.B. Hons, B.Com. LL.B. Hons), and SLS Hyderabad, Nagpur & Noida (B.A. LL.B., B.B.A. LL.B.). Candidates may attempt both SLAT 01 and SLAT 02 — the better of the two scores is used for admission. Result announcement: 12 January 2027.

Applications for CLAT 2027 are open now. Students aiming for the National Law Universities should register within the window above — the application deadline does not typically get extended.

Several IITs, IIMs, IISc and IIITs have introduced new BTech and BS programmes for the 2026 admission cycle, with eligibility routed through JEE Main, JEE Advanced, or JoSAA/CSAB counselling. Taken together, these launches point to Indian undergraduate education leaning further into interdisciplinary, technology-driven courses: the IITs and IISc are pushing deeper into deep-tech engineering fields via JEE Advanced, while the IIITs and IIMs are building out applied computing and business-tech programmes through JEE Main and mixed admission routes.

IIM Bangalore has opened applications for its four-year, full-time undergraduate programmes for 2026–27. Offered through IIMB’s School of Multidisciplinary Studies, students can choose between B.Sc. (Hons) Economics (minor in Data Science & Business) or B.Sc. (Hons) Data Science (minor in Economics & Business) – 40 seats in each major, taught residentially at IIMB’s Jigani campus, about 30 km from the Bannerghatta campus in Bengaluru.

UCAS runs two headline deadlines each cycle. Oxford, Cambridge, and most Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine/Science courses close early on 15 October 2026. Every other undergraduate course — the large majority — carries an equal consideration deadline of 13 January 2027: applications in by then are all judged on the same footing, with no advantage to submitting sooner.

Conservatoire music courses close earliest of all, on 1 October 2026, though conservatoire dance, drama and musical theatre courses generally follow the January date instead.
